Why is my ear still ringing 8 days after i went shooting without hearing protection?

I went shooting on 8/18/09. I did not wear any hearing protection and my left ear is still ringing. Over the last day or so the pitch seems to be getting higher. is this going to be a problem for the rest of my life?

No, not for the rest of ur life. That ringing that ur hearing is the cells dying in ur ear. When it stops, ur not going to be able to hear that high pitch again. U wont be death, but u wont be able to hear the pitch. Thats y ur recommended to wear ear-protection when shooting.
You’re going deaf. What the hell were you thinking?! Always wear ear protection. Its too late now: listen to all ur favorite music and spend talking with loved ones, its last time you’ll hear anything. I’ll pray for you son
I’m just kidding, its probably nothing but go to the doctor to be sure, next time wear ear protection!
