What are your symptoms of tinnitus. Does it ever go away?
My husband is being tested for it and the sounds in his ears are constant.

About 4 weeks ago my primary physician prescribed Zoloft to me to help with my anxiety and sleep problems that started occuring about 4 months ago, which I believe had started as a result of excessive stress. I had some really bad reactions to Zoloft (severe panic attacks and anxiety) and that's when the hissing – ringing in my ears started happening. I stopped taking the Zoloft after only 3 days but the Tinnitus continued since then. I don't ever notice it at work during the morning or afternoon. It's when I get home that I notice it, especially if I am fatigued or stressed out. Could the Zoloft reaction have triggered this Tinnitus and will it stop? I went to an ear, nose & throat specialist the other day, who checked my hearing and said I tested fine. He said the ringing noise is common among people with anxiety and that the anxiety must be treated with medication, preferably antidepressants, and that I needed to find one that I can live with, and it might be gone in 2 months.True?
I have an Audiologist appointment in three weeks (too long). I have been having unusually loud Tinnitus with a little buzzy distortion with external sound or music. But I also feel a slight pressure like what I get going up the mountains. I have no equilibrium problems or dizziness and my ears are clean of wax and the eardrum seems pink and healthy. Could this be an inner ear infection?
cyanne2ak-Thanks, I did not seem to have any allergy problems. Hmmm, perhaps the colds I almost got (but didn't get).
smdglvr-Ugh, how awful! Thankfully it does not feel that pressurized–yet.
Thanks Fire-Dawg, I will try that. BTW, it is called the "eustachian" tube for those looking things up. ![]()
marianne-thanks, the antihistamine is a good idea. May dry things up a bit. I did not get a cold, but everyone else did. I just kept using Zicam up the nose and it seemed to keep it at bay.
sunshine-thanks sunshine! I was suspended for a while (do a search for schneb), but I was brought back thanks to alot of good folk by my side.
I am going to try the antihist as marianned suggested. I have an audiologist appt. in 2 weeks–hopefully get an antibiotic then. I notice it is louder when I wake from sleep. Fluid buildup?
Wrathpuppet – Been trying to get a hold of you. I have something to send you but need an address. Yeah, I have busy doctors around here.
I started to get a pretty bad beeping noise in my ear about 4.5 months ago after attending a loud concert. The sound is much quieter now than it was when it first started, and I can usually only hear it when I'm in bed at night. What are the chances that it will fade away completely?
tinnitus?? im 18 and i cant stop listening to loud music.every song sucks when its on low volume.
but my question is—-what does treating it mean??? decreasing the sound of the tinnitus ringing in the ear???
Sometimes it's so bad I've looked around for someone rhythmically striking a metal pole, that's what it sounded like. Maybe it is my heartbeat or blood pumping? Does anyone else have that happen? Sometimes it's just weird scrapy-noises though. Also it's not every time I exercise, but especially if I do so intensely. Any help would be great.
I recently got a cochlear implant Monday September 15 and Activation date is Tuesday October 21st I got a very heavy tinnitus sound due to operation my doctor said it normal due to fluid hair cell She said all patient have that. How long did you wait until the tinnitus sound to be gone? I wrote a question to www.justanswer.com like yahoo answer but you pay for it and talk to a professional doctor and gave me an answer right away. he said a lot of people had complaint about tinnitus sound after the implantation after getting a sound processor the tinnitus will automactically cut off the tinnitus sound for the period of time I have to wait a month and go along with this stupid tinnitus sound. if you can help/support that will be great thank you for your help Matt
Also, can I please ask how to cure it?
My ears have been bothering me for about 3-4 days now. It just start out as a fullness in my ears and then they began hurting. Yesterday my left ear stop hurting, but my right ear began to hurt more and there was a buzzing noise in my ear. Sometimes there would be a noise that almost sounded like a bird flaping it wings mix in with the buzzing. This morning i woke up and now, not only is there buzzing, but noises around are echoing in my right ear…. Whats going on?
I had/have strep and some pink eye of some sort….
i am being treated for my strep and pink eye right now
The ringing or background noise in my ear has been going on for weeks.
Think it was caused by an ear infection. The sound is not too loud as i can only hear it in quiet environment. It sounds like an empty tape recorder being played, would this be tinnitus. I haven't been to the doctors yet but just wanna know if this is tinnitus or not? And if so, will it be able to go away?
Sometimes when I'm falling asleep I can ear a profound sound,Like I´m traveling through a deep tunnel. I know in medical terms it´s called tinnitus, but I also want to know the spiritual meaning.
Hey guys i have a cold and I suffer a lil tinnitus, but witht he cold My left ear has a louder ring to it, is this justr down to the cold? Soemtimes my ears get a lil sensitive to sound aswell due to the cold.
It is probably caused from my sinuses. I still have a slight flu, and just got over a wicked one. So what can I do to get rid of sinus Tinnitus.
Im hoping its not caused from playing guitar… Damn… ill need to wear earplugs. Cause every guitarist knows amps sound better when they are louder.
I have tinnitus from listening to loud music through headphones for years. I've stopped listening on the headphones, but I was wondering, if I listen to music a couple hours a day on my stereo (with the sound at regular volume), will I irritate my tinnitus or lose my hearing?
I also wanted to mention that I have no hearing loss yet, only tinnitus.
