Tinnitus Archives

Okay, well this started about 2 months ago, I started getting really lightheaded & thought I was going to faint. I panicked and called the ambulance. 2 days before that incident I had visited my doctor because of pulsatile tinnitus ( this swooshing noise that goes along with my heartbeat) she said it could be an infection.

Ever since I went to the hospital the light headedness is still here. 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Especially when I am out somewhere, I feel unbalanced. And I also feel brain fog…I feel confused and I forget stuff sometimes. I have really bad derealization.
I feel so alone, especially when doctors can't figure out what I have.
I have had MRI's and MRA's, CT scans, and Carotid Ultrasounds. Since I thought I had narrowing somewhere because I have high cholesterol but not high blood pressure.

All of this is causing me stress, which is causing me really bad headaches and heart flutters. I'm going to a Cardiologist on Monday and If there's nothing wrong then I am going to my ENT.

Does anyone think this could be a middle ear problem?

No rude answers please.

I am suffering from Tinitus and I don't know what cause this and how I can recover. I need your help. Thanks.

I have a friend who has had tinnitus for a week now with episodes of orthostatic hypotension and his doctor told him to drink more water and add more salt to his diet. Is this good advice?

I don't know.. i've had many injuries before and i try to learn from it and be more careful but aparently i keep getting injured and almost nobody around me ever has any injuries. i'm not talking abut me being a guy into competitive sports! No. I'm just a simple person, yes i do exercise but not the risky kind.

this are some of the stupidest, easiest ways i got injured and its like i didn't even do much and i'm injured for life

-1998 tried a back bend..chest ligament snapped and now i can't even do much pushups.. i have to be real careful. I'm ok now but if i try to do alot with my chest( hard punching or pushups) it hurts to death

-2000 ran a little.. my knee ligament badly damaged and it's been 9 years i stil have it bad.. But i'm used to it
-2001 to 2004 Various chestt pains where i felt like dying.
-2004 some serious male problems when i got injured by doing nothing, i just woke up one day from my sleep and i was like dying. took 1 year to heal

-2005 lost my normal hearing just because i played ONE drum sound on the Yamaha keyboard. It's not just tinnitus, it's a worse thing called hyperacusis.

-2006 Ate something and had a terrible stomach ache, went to emergency …was about to be operated..but luckly they said no and then got better
-2007 Lifted some simple File folders and my shoulder ligament broke.
-2008 Did one slow, just for practice Karate spin kick and my knee meniscus tear
-2009 Just in February 9th, ate a salad and it had to be that bit down and the crouton was hard and it did something to my molar. It's hurting everyday for 3 weeks and i think it's broken.

You see! I get injured by anything even if it's alittle move that almost nobody gets injured by.

Recently with my possibly damaged molar tooth, i've been depressed and always thinking "Here we go another dumb injury"..

I dont know how to stop getting injured easily.. what can i do?

I try to think before i do things but it's like my mind just does it before thinking. i'm 29 male by the way

Could this be TMJ or something else?

I have had pulsatile tinnitus for the last 3 months and also tension like headaches. In the last month or so my jaw has started clicking and it hurts a little to open my mouth wide and my jaw aches. I do have a habit of biting my nails and pens etc and I read that that could cause TMJ?

I have been very anxious in the past few months and also had palpitations which have now gone. But the headaches and tinnitus seem to be worse when I get anxious or stressed so I'm not sure what it could be.

I read that it could be TMJ? Anyone know if it could be? I'm really worried it could be more serious.

I have my radio on at a normal volume, i listen to radio talk shows or nice music BUT THEN all these a****s in their fancy cars surround me at stop lights or even when not at stop lights..with their stereo sub woofer systems BOOM BOOM BOOM.. So loud and painful. And they don't care..

Some of us have ear problems and even if we don't
1) we CAN GET Earproblems from that loud noise 2)we want to listen to our own music. why are we not allowed

Why are these people so cruel and think nothing of it?

Many of the ones with loud music are Hip hop/rap listeners by the way.

I'm 29 male with an ear problem called Hyperacusis and Tinnitus

I have been light headed/ with dizzyness and vertigo 24 hours a day 7 days a week for over 2 months already!
I'm not anemic or diabetic or have any neurological issues, I have had an MRI with contrast of my brain and a CT scan too.
I have also have pulsatile tinnitus to go along with these symptoms.

I went to an ENT because I am more than sure I might have something wrong with my inner ears (eg:labyrinthitis) He did not find any fluid inside my ears so it is not Meniere's disease.

Are all inner ear disorders or viruses easy to find? Or are there special tests to determine If you have one or not?
I've had many sinus infections in the past and I have read that you usually get labyrinthitis after a upper respiratory (sp?) infection…

Things like Woofers( is this what theey are called).. loud speakers, and cars that vibrate from loud booming music. All over town. I have to cover my ears always cause i have ear damage.. but i got ear damage from loud music.. so this could be damaging even for people who don't have ear problems YET.. so why police doesn't do anything about it, or why are there not laws for car sound….I don't know why those guys(sometimes girls) need to put it so loud.. i hear to music sometimes in my car, it doesn't have to be so loud.. are they trying to impress people?
bunch of criminals, yeah.. cause they can make people get Tinnitus and Hyperacusis.. just like i got it from a simple loud sound.

I can hear my heartbeat in my left ear, HELP!!?

I had a really really bad cold about 6 months ago, and the cold left me hearing me my heartbeat in my left ear. I can hear perfectly fine with my left ear, it’s just that I can hear my heartbeat. I’m not sure what it is, my closest guess is that it’s pulsatile tinnitus. But I have to go to my doctor, because I’m not so sure.

Ok, so my second point is that people say that it should go over, since my pulsatile tinnitus is combined with a cold I had, but there’s gone 6 months! Did I really have a that bad a cold or is there anything wrong with my ear? Maybe I have high blood pressure?
And what can you do to make it disappear? PLEASE HELP!!

Could this really JUST be anxiety?

Hi guys I'm hoping someone may be able to help me. I am an 18 year old female & for the past 2 months or so I have been very light headed. It's not vertigo but it feels as though I could pass out. Along with this,I feel tired all the time sometimes I feel like I'm in a dream and I'm always with brain fog where I just don't feel right. I seem to not be able to concentrate as well as I used to. I also have pulsatile tinnitus(doctors don't seem to worry about it too much) I've had MRI's of my brain also MRA because I thought I wasn't getting enough blood flow to my head, I've had CT scans, Carotid Ultrasound, and blood tests.

What could possibly be wrong with me? I went to a neurologist, cardiologist, and an ENT. They all think it might be anxiety.
Right now I am going to another ENT who THINKS it might be BBPV…it's just a suggestion, he doesn't sound too sure though. He says not to worry about the pulsatile tinnitus…but the thing is that 2 days after first getting the pulsatile tinnitus I started getting the dizzy spells.

Could this all just be anxiety????
But could the anxiety cause 24/7 ANXIETY?
I meant 24/7 LIGHTHEADEDNESS*****
sorry about the typo.

I've seen people who go to concerts, and stand right ini front, where all the music and loud speakers are. That is dangersou to people's ear health . They can get Tinnitus, and worse things such as Hyperacusis and ear nerve dmage.

And , as far as I know, those performers never provide any ear protection. Should't it be part of their act to do a preshow warning

Can you fly while suffering from tinitus?

My mother is suffering from tinitus is there anything she can do to ease the symptoms. Also she is due to fly in 2 weeks, will everything be ok ?
thanks!

I'm starting to suspect inner ear problems since I have suffered many sinus infections and such. I was thinking maybe labyrinthis(sp?) since I have all the symptoms. How do I get diagnosed with it? I am currently going to an ENT, should I go to a neurotologist instead because this ENT doesn't seem to know too much about it.

One guy, like 5 houses away. put his music while cleaning his truck. And like many crazy people who put stereo systems in his cars… they have this bass( not the music instrument)boosting that's so loud i can hear it so bad even in my house. and it shakes the windows and it vibrates so bad in my ears since i have hyperacusis and tinnitus. The music is fine, i dont' even hear it, but the bass BOOOOOOOMM, BOOOOOM, BUM BUM BUM BUM ….oh it's so annoying and i have to deal with pain in my ears all the time…why don't they shut it up, ..and then they are kind of gangsters that wouldn't listen if i went there and asked. What can i do?
