I recently got diagnosed with Tinitus, which is a constant ringing in both of my ears. It is driving me crazy especially at bedtime. I have tried sleeping with background noise like a fan, but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

What is the cause and possible cure for constant ringing in the ears? It seems to be louder in the evening and night. Is it something to be really concerned about or just an agravation ?

I've been to the doctor for other ear things.. happened to mention that they ring, he diagnosed me with general tinitus.. but my ears have always been ringing and it is common.
Anyway ever since he diagnosed me it has been bugging me all the time. I didn't even notice it before because I didn't think about it. I usually sleep with a white noise machine.
I read about ginko biloba, more innefective than effective…

Any other remedies?
