I’m in my high school drumline and we kept practicing a part in our music that that a ton of rim shots. After that my ears gradually starting ringing and now overnight they still are. I can tell a difference between my hearing in my right eat compared to my left.
What should I do? I do not want to lose partial hearing in my ear.

I went dancing at a club last Thursday night. The music didn’t seem louder than it usually is at such places, but I noticed a ringing in my left ear as I was leaving. I woke up Friday with it still there–this follows for Saturday and now today. Should I be worried? Anything in particular I should do? Or should I just let it pass? Thanks, guys.

My left ear is ringing and it’s driving me insane. The weird though is that when I play music or ear something it stops but when its quiet and theres no music it rings. Also when I breathe in it stops.
It doesn’t hurt or anything its just annoying.
What is it?

Let me start of by saying I'm 19 years old. I've been in a band for about 3 years and I've exposed me ears to extremely loud noise without plugs or anything to protect them and I believe I developed Tinnitus about 2 years ago. I had a slight ringing sound with a bit of buzzing but it was always tolerable, usually i would just put some music on and forget about it. Recently it's been getting worse so I started wearing ear plugs and it seemed to be keeping things the way they were. I have the ringing in both ears. A few days ago I was playing the music without the ear plugs and the ringing seemed to get worse. Though the last few months I've been getting dizzy spells (vertigo if you will) and i didn't think much of it. I started feeling nauseous to the point where I would want to vomit but I haven't yet. I feel off balance throughout the day. My ears also feel full as if I couldn't pop them but I really have no problem with that. The ringing seems to intensify sometimes and I also pick up a lot of sharp sounds in my ears that wouldn't have bothered me before. After doing some research I came across meniere's disease which pretty much backs up all of my symptoms. The only discouraging part is that I'm so young and this usually effects adults in their 30's and up. Im not ruling this out a single bit but I wanted to know if anybody out there is suffering from the same symptoms or even has meniere's disease and maybe tell me hoe to keep the ringing to a tolerable level. I have a hard time sleeping, thats when the ringing seems to be at it's worst. I cut Sodium out of my diet as of yesterday and I'm waiting to see if it shows any positive results. The earliest I can get in to see my doctor is March 3rd (a little over 2 weeks from today) and I'm hoping i can deal with it until then. I've read that they do have surgeries to help with this and I would very much so consider it due to my young age. I'm hoping things will resolve on it's own but only time can tell. Does anybody have any recommendations for me? Medications or just helpful information I couldn't find on a website? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I Mean Like A Ear Filter For An Electric Guitar Builder And Player That I Could Keep In My Ears All The Time? Just To Keep Out Bad Sounds And To Still Hear Music Without Losing Any Note?

I went out last night to a rave at a small venue, the music was very very loud. I wasn't wearing earplugs; which I now know after finding out from various people. Anyway, there is ringing in my ears and faint loss of hearing. How long does this last? I know I did some damage and just wanted to know if some people had a similar experience.

I've seen people who go to concerts, and stand right ini front, where all the music and loud speakers are. That is dangersou to people's ear health . They can get Tinnitus, and worse things such as Hyperacusis and ear nerve dmage.
And , as far as I know, those performers never provide any ear protection. Should't it be part of their act to do a preshow warning

actually its not really ringing per say… more like a t.v. with no station, ya know shhhhhhh white noise.
i've noticed when i get really mad it changes to a high pitch solid tone.
one doc gave me hi blood pressure pills, but my pressure has always been & still is very good. i don't take them they made me really "oogie" and dizzy, droopy feeling.
i did go to lots of concerts and listen to music too loud in the car.
ya think its just damage or signs of something else? why does it change when i get pissed?
i'm a nurse and i am really confused & concerned
no pain or anything, but at night when its quiet…kinda hard to go to sleep …

Ok I am 14 years old, and today I have been diagnosed with tinnitus. I do listen to music loud and play guitar loud, but that will have t o change … OK on with the story, this has been going on since Saturday. My doctor has given me an anti-inflammatory medicine. And he said if that doesn't work he would refer me to a specialist. Is there a chance my tinnitus can go away, because on this one medical site I read that the ringing can decrease volume wise, or be elimentated. Is it possible my tinnitus can "go away" …?
Actually ge gave me a sample of methylprednisolone which I found out is a steroid, will this help me??? Please I need to know, and even if I get treatment, will I be able to play shows w/ my band ???

ok well i have tinnitus from going to shows every other week locally and i wised up pretty quickly and i put toilet paper in my ears which really helps with how loud it is. the noise is bearable now but i would like to know how much twice a monthe concerts could do to my hearing in the future. when i went to shows before my tinnitus i would have ringing in the ears for about 3 days because i didn't have anything protecting my ears, now i have hardly any ringing other than my normal tinnitus for about an hour. anyone give me any other details regarding to hearing safety and what i should expect to be able to hear when i am older?
btw i do listen to my ipod about an hour at about 2/5's the way up and i listen to music fairly loud in my car for about 30 minutes a day.
