How do you get rid of ringing in one ear?

It has been 2 days since it started it is very annoying and its only in my left ear. When some one talks to me, in my left ear it is muffled and its starts ring very loud. My right ear is completly fine. and it is louder when I relax. What do I do?

And I have not listened to loud music, or any thing. The only loud thing lately was a jet going over my house.

How to get rid of ringing ears?

About 10 minutes ago I was listening to really loud music in one of my ears from an iPod. It was with one of those small headphones that fit inside your ear. Ever since my ears have been ringing like crazy, and It’s quiet where I am now. Whenever I plug my ears or sit still for a little while it gets worse. It’s starting to hurt, and I’m starting not to hear other outside sounds. Any temporary relief before I call a doctor?

tinnitus?? im 18 and i cant stop listening to loud music.every song sucks when its on low volume.

but my question is—-what does treating it mean??? decreasing the sound of the tinnitus ringing in the ear???

I have tinnitus from listening to loud music through headphones for years. I've stopped listening on the headphones, but I was wondering, if I listen to music a couple hours a day on my stereo (with the sound at regular volume), will I irritate my tinnitus or lose my hearing?

I also wanted to mention that I have no hearing loss yet, only tinnitus.

So, I have a ringing in one ear around 4 kHz, and slightly reduced sensitivity to frequencies around that range as well (though it may be a result of the ringing masking that range). The average person probably wouldn't notice the small change, but as a musician and a sound technician, I notice it. Though I do listen to loud music, I also bear OSHA standards in mind, as well as the common sense to turn it down if it hurts. I mix live music around 90-95 dB(A), and at about the same volume in my car. In the rare cases I go to concerts, I always bring ear plugs. (I learned the first time!) Given all that, there is only a small window of time before I started taking precautions that damage could've resulted from sound. I've never left any music-related event with ringing in my ears that I can remember.

So more about this, there's not just ringing, but heightened sensitivity to spontaneous sounds (tearing paper from a spiral notebook slowly, or water tinkling) that cause my ear to sort of pulsate in direct response to the sound. Strangely, that sensitivity seems to be absent in music, as it only seems to appear when the sound is spontaneous out of near-complete silence. Additionally, I've noticed increased physical sensitivity, and decreased ear wax production (as compared to my other ear). If I were to pull my ears gently up or down, it might hurt one. Also of interest is that it sometimes pops somewhere inside, which can't be good. This has been ongoing for a couple years now, and hasn't really gotten any worse. I still have great hearing in general, but I often find myself trying to listen with my other ear to quieter sounds. Also noticed that my ear canal seems slightly smaller. I don't know if it's always been that way or not.

I'm kind of suspecting *maybe* a magnesium deficiency. I also have small muscle twitches in random places, particularly my arms or legs, that I read might be caused from magnesium deficiency. I thought of giving supplements a try to see what happens, but how much is too much?

I wondered if anyone else might've had a similar experience.

Can tinnitus manifest itself as two different sounds in both ears? My left ear has had a high pitched ringing for years, and now my right ear has a low pulsing hum. Is this normal or is it something else? I am a 23 year old seemingly healthy male.

The pulsating hum is new .. maybe 1 month old.. and does not go with my heart beat – it is much slower. I take Claritin D daily, rarely use Motrin IB for back pain and never more than 400mg in a dose. I was on a Prednisone oral 10 day schedule starting with 50mg back in January, and I had a 40mg Kenalog injection in mid-February. I have cut caffeine out of my diet, and I quit smoking entirely (never more than 1 a day previously… usually 3 a week so not heavy.)

I can't figure this out! I have googled to no avail, and I am hesitant to go to the doctor because I am unemployed and have no insurance. When the left ear ringing began, they told me the ringing was permanent and to just live with it.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
I had a hearing test when I was 14 and the initial ringing started. They found minimal loss of hearing and said it was most likely from an ear infection and it may or may not be permanent.

Fast forward 9 years, I have taken great care with my ears. I have only been to maybe 4 or 5 indoor concerts with loud music lasting 1-2hrs each. I realized this was dumb and haven't gone to one in about 3 years. I even avoid movie theatres because the sound is too loud for my taste.

As for the medicine, I stopped taking Claritin-D and this problem started up. I had a congested left ear for a month which wouldn't clear and I took it daily during winter as well as Nasonex to clear that up. Could this be related?

I don't think this would be a big problem if it was sort of the same tune. Its like the opposite sound in my right ear and extremely annoying because it pulses and is hard to cover up.

I've been using the usual over the counter ear drops but nothing. It unclogs it a little but the ringing remains. It's been a week or two at least. I'm constantly getting this problem. Is it from all of the loud music I listen to or am I not getting shampoo out enough? I've heard so many causes. What could it be and is it dangerous? Will I go deaf?

I don't have health insurance so I can't go see a doctor.

I was told it is just from loud music for a while. I spent about a week keeping the volume low on tv and music to make the ringing stop but every so often out of nowhere my ears ring again. Why is that? and … Is there a way to stop it?

I have my radio on at a normal volume, i listen to radio talk shows or nice music BUT THEN all these a****s in their fancy cars surround me at stop lights or even when not at stop lights..with their stereo sub woofer systems BOOM BOOM BOOM.. So loud and painful. And they don't care..

Some of us have ear problems and even if we don't
1) we CAN GET Earproblems from that loud noise 2)we want to listen to our own music. why are we not allowed

Why are these people so cruel and think nothing of it?

Many of the ones with loud music are Hip hop/rap listeners by the way.

I'm 29 male with an ear problem called Hyperacusis and Tinnitus

Things like Woofers( is this what theey are called).. loud speakers, and cars that vibrate from loud booming music. All over town. I have to cover my ears always cause i have ear damage.. but i got ear damage from loud music.. so this could be damaging even for people who don't have ear problems YET.. so why police doesn't do anything about it, or why are there not laws for car sound….I don't know why those guys(sometimes girls) need to put it so loud.. i hear to music sometimes in my car, it doesn't have to be so loud.. are they trying to impress people?
bunch of criminals, yeah.. cause they can make people get Tinnitus and Hyperacusis.. just like i got it from a simple loud sound.

Is there any cure for ringing ears?

I’ve had ringing ears all my life. I know that when I was small–two years old, if not younger–I had a terrible double-ear infection. More recently, I had a repeat of that lovely little infection five years ago, and if ever I go on a plane with a head cold, my ears feel like they’re exploding (gross, I know).

I hear ringing in my ears wherever I am, and while it’s certainly not killing me, I would love to be able to just hear…nothing. For once in my life…

For the record, I do not listen to loud music. I am scared to lose my hearing (seeing as it’s not that perfect to begin with). I’m pretty sure the ringing is a result of the recurring ear infections.

Anyway, I was wondering if it is possible to get the ringing to go away. Has anyone ever had theirs cured, or heard of someone whose ears stopped ringing? I’d appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Buzzing in the Ears/Tinnitus?

Hi. I am a healthy 29 year old female. I work at a quiet office, don’t go to night clubs, don’t listen to loud music, and don’t go to concerts. I hear buzzing in both my ears, for five weeks. I haven’t had the flu for a few years. I saw an ear, nose, and throat specialist. He confirmed that my ears aren’t clogged/no ear wax build up. He couldn’t tell me what is causing the buzzing. I have to have a hearing test in a week. This is annoying and I am worried. Has anyone else had this? Do you know what caused it?

Thank you for you time.

I went to a concert and my ears still havent stopped ringing. I am used to loud music like that but this is the first time my ears didnt stop ringing. Is there something I can do?

How long does hearing loss last after a concert?

I went to see Tim McGraw last night. I expected loud music of course but not this kind of loss. It took over a week for my hearing to return to normal after Kenny Chesney! I wished I had taken ear plugs.

I'm used to the muffling sound and the ears ringing. What bothers me is the pitch or tone that I can't hear this morning. The phone even sounds "squeaky" if that makes sense. When do you go to the doctor?

Here is an example: I just saw Making the band, the girl group. and they are sooo excited, going to loud clubs, never in that show do we see any shots of Diddy explaining to them about taking care of their ears. All these MTV shows make it seem like loud is better and never teach about the consequences.

-Bunch of crazy teens go to concerts and don't seem to care, i see this over and over in Mtv or other music channels

-Musicians who have concerts don't ever wait for people to make sure they have ear protection on before they start the loud noise. They should make it mandatory and wait a few minutes and provide ear protection.

I'm a person with hyperacusis and tinnitus, and have to endure pain all the time.. got it from one single incident of loud music from my yamaha keyboard. I can't believe nobody is informed or cares about this Specially the music industry doesn't want to inform people and that's just bull s***
