I woke up with a very full feeling in both ears a few mornings ago. I got in my car, turned on the radio and thought I had my bass setting up too loud. Turns out I did not. I thought they were getting a little better by the end of the day, but woke up the next morning even worse. One ear is worse than the other. What started out as pulsating with each outside sound, like someone talking would make my ears make whooshing sounds with each syllable, etc.-now has turned into constant whirring or roaring sound in my left ear. I want to say it’s sinus related, because I do have allergies and the weather has been crazy. I also woke up with a sore tonsil on the same side of the worse ear. I have an excess of post nasal drip as well. I just wonder if it’s worth going to a doctor for or will it just have to clear up on its own. I also wonder if anyone has tried any natural remedies. I am due to leave town in 5 days and I’m dreading the plane ride with this condition! I am very uncomfortable. I tried a decongestant to no avail. I tried a warm compress which helped for a few minutes and I’ve been taking Advil every few hours. I guess I also fear permanent tinnitus as a result of this. I haven’t seen any kind of discharge from either ear and I don’t feel necessarily "sick" and my sore throat has gone away. Ready to pull my hair out! This noise is actually vibrating my ear pretty hard.

okay so i was cutting my food with a big knife and stabbed myself between my finger and thumb real quick, it stung, i looked at it & could see in my hand, turned around, stomach was turning, got pale white, had a ringing noise in my head, and when i began to explain to my bf what happened it felt like someone had their hands over my ears like my head was stuffed up or something. I laid down for a moment on the couch while he bandaged me up & I felt fine after just a few minutes.

now the loud ringing, stomach turning, stuffy head (someone had their hands over my ear feeling) and paleness has only happened once before when i was being intimate with my bf – he accidentally went in my [butt] – it hurt so much i just jumped up out of the bed and no sooner than i got to the hallway the feeling came over me, i laid back down in the bed (after some crying and extreme freaking out) and the feeling went away.

was it because of ’shock’?

Four family members of various ages hear the sound in one room only. My son cannot sleep in his bedroom where the noise is heard. We checked all electrical devices and toys, windows (thought it might be crickets and is not), television, lava lamp, smoke detector, etc. You cannot hear the noise in his closet or the hallway or any other room in the house. We even took his wristwatch out of the room. It is a constant, barely audible, high pitched sound as if your ears are ringing and the sound is not real, yet you get an eye/and headache if in his room for more than a few minutes. What else could it be??? What else should we check? He is sleeping in the spare bedroom for now, since it is unbearable. Myself and husband in our 30's hear it, as well as my son who is 10, and our daughter who is 6. This is not a joke, or riddle…..so please offer only serious suggestions. Thank you!

Here is an example: I just saw Making the band, the girl group. and they are sooo excited, going to loud clubs, never in that show do we see any shots of Diddy explaining to them about taking care of their ears. All these MTV shows make it seem like loud is better and never teach about the consequences.

-Bunch of crazy teens go to concerts and don't seem to care, i see this over and over in Mtv or other music channels

-Musicians who have concerts don't ever wait for people to make sure they have ear protection on before they start the loud noise. They should make it mandatory and wait a few minutes and provide ear protection.

I'm a person with hyperacusis and tinnitus, and have to endure pain all the time.. got it from one single incident of loud music from my yamaha keyboard. I can't believe nobody is informed or cares about this Specially the music industry doesn't want to inform people and that's just bull s***
