First, let me state I have no objection, nor do I have the right to object to anyone taking legally prescribed drugs for whatever condition. If it were my minor child, I think I would have a right to input. That is not the issue.
Nursing school. Drilled into our heads drugs. State
could get busted for possession if you take a drug
to authorities. Illegal drugs were not an issue in
our home, we were not illegal drug users. Much taboo about psych drugs. I could not care less if it is legally
prescribed by a competent medical care provider.
Unknown to me, someone has an agenda with me.
I was cleaning our closet, this is the semester prior to graduating from nursing school. In a shoe, in the closet I found a bottle, unmarked, unlabeled of pills. I do not
know for absolute sure what they were. Full bottle.
I panicked. Full panic, blind panic, I said a bad word, and ran
to the commode, dumped and flushed. I did not take one of them, I did not take one out of the bottle. Had my husband been home I would have talked to him about them right then and there. He did have tinnitus
from smoking for many many years. He had cut down from four packs when we married, to one pack a day when home of Carlton extra lights. I would have had no objection to his taking a legal drug. He was a grown man with all the rights to whatever anyone else had,
needless to say. But as I said,
I panicked. Then, out of fear again, thinking I am
being set up because so much was going on, I called some ladies I knew who were with law enforcement.
Told them I found this, and that I did not take them.
I mentioned no names. I was trying to protect myself
I was so close to graduation.

My husband never missed those pills. Never said a word. Never acted like he knew a thing. Very puzzing.
Then I started thinking. I know those pills had been in the closet for at least 3 years. I can retrospectively tell you everyone who knew they were there, probably including, but not for sure people in college.
Could I have been busted for possession? Where
would I have taken them. If they were Xanax, and
they looked sort of like the light blue Xanax or a pill
for dizziness. I am almost sure they were Xanax.
That is a schedule four controlled drug. No label.

Listen up . I was in college.
Female. Old joke, looking for your MRS. degree.
No . I had one and I wanted to keep it. No plans for
divorce whatsoever. I had a recipe file box. Got it
when I read a book written by a preacher’s wife.
No. I never tried to be like anyone else. We were very
active in church for many years. My husband
I believe considered the clergy. I emulate no one.
Nor do, or did I envy or copy them.
She talked about her housekeeping system. I adopted
some of it. In this box, I had birthdays, holidays,
yearly chores, monthly, weekly , daily chores according to month or day. Did I do all this routinely?
No. I am not a compulsive housekeeper, I am also
not anal. I am not fixated anywhere. Not. Zilch.
It came in handy for the bds, etc. and I knew all the time what needed to be done. If I got into housecleaning mode, I had a list of things overdue, and current to pick from. It was really neat.
Some one took it upon themselves to defend my husband in case I divorced him. They were inspecting my housekeeping. I found the pills when I cleaned the bottom of the closet, straightening the shoes.
They also found my list of canning and freezing
which I kept from year to year: Made 80 jars of corn last year; Used it all. Make more this year, etc.
Well. I was not planning to divorce. My husand did
not ever complain about the house. My kids and I could
clean the house top to bottom in an hour and it look
neat as a pin, and do deep cleaning in about three
hours of every room. I usually did it,because I wanted to do so.

What do you think? Could I have been busted?
Also, I have never heard the end of this. No one, no one, as usual ever mentioned the pills. No one.
Not one single person. Could that be guilt?

Yes. You can be busted in your home. It happens every day. Every day.

Let me start of by saying I'm 19 years old. I've been in a band for about 3 years and I've exposed me ears to extremely loud noise without plugs or anything to protect them and I believe I developed Tinnitus about 2 years ago. I had a slight ringing sound with a bit of buzzing but it was always tolerable, usually i would just put some music on and forget about it. Recently it's been getting worse so I started wearing ear plugs and it seemed to be keeping things the way they were. I have the ringing in both ears. A few days ago I was playing the music without the ear plugs and the ringing seemed to get worse. Though the last few months I've been getting dizzy spells (vertigo if you will) and i didn't think much of it. I started feeling nauseous to the point where I would want to vomit but I haven't yet. I feel off balance throughout the day. My ears also feel full as if I couldn't pop them but I really have no problem with that. The ringing seems to intensify sometimes and I also pick up a lot of sharp sounds in my ears that wouldn't have bothered me before. After doing some research I came across meniere's disease which pretty much backs up all of my symptoms. The only discouraging part is that I'm so young and this usually effects adults in their 30's and up. Im not ruling this out a single bit but I wanted to know if anybody out there is suffering from the same symptoms or even has meniere's disease and maybe tell me hoe to keep the ringing to a tolerable level. I have a hard time sleeping, thats when the ringing seems to be at it's worst. I cut Sodium out of my diet as of yesterday and I'm waiting to see if it shows any positive results. The earliest I can get in to see my doctor is March 3rd (a little over 2 weeks from today) and I'm hoping i can deal with it until then. I've read that they do have surgeries to help with this and I would very much so consider it due to my young age. I'm hoping things will resolve on it's own but only time can tell. Does anybody have any recommendations for me? Medications or just helpful information I couldn't find on a website? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Can tinnitus manifest itself as two different sounds in both ears? My left ear has had a high pitched ringing for years, and now my right ear has a low pulsing hum. Is this normal or is it something else? I am a 23 year old seemingly healthy male.

The pulsating hum is new .. maybe 1 month old.. and does not go with my heart beat – it is much slower. I take Claritin D daily, rarely use Motrin IB for back pain and never more than 400mg in a dose. I was on a Prednisone oral 10 day schedule starting with 50mg back in January, and I had a 40mg Kenalog injection in mid-February. I have cut caffeine out of my diet, and I quit smoking entirely (never more than 1 a day previously… usually 3 a week so not heavy.)

I can't figure this out! I have googled to no avail, and I am hesitant to go to the doctor because I am unemployed and have no insurance. When the left ear ringing began, they told me the ringing was permanent and to just live with it.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
I had a hearing test when I was 14 and the initial ringing started. They found minimal loss of hearing and said it was most likely from an ear infection and it may or may not be permanent.

Fast forward 9 years, I have taken great care with my ears. I have only been to maybe 4 or 5 indoor concerts with loud music lasting 1-2hrs each. I realized this was dumb and haven't gone to one in about 3 years. I even avoid movie theatres because the sound is too loud for my taste.

As for the medicine, I stopped taking Claritin-D and this problem started up. I had a congested left ear for a month which wouldn't clear and I took it daily during winter as well as Nasonex to clear that up. Could this be related?

I don't think this would be a big problem if it was sort of the same tune. Its like the opposite sound in my right ear and extremely annoying because it pulses and is hard to cover up.

Any other musicians with tinnitus?

(i already posted this question, but i decided to post it under a different category in hopes of getting more anwers..thanks to those who answered before)

ive been in a metal band and have been going to a lot of loud concerts for the last 3 years without using hearing protection for a majority of the time..last september, i developed tinnitus and have confirmed with an audiologist that i have a minor hearing loss..now i always make sure i wear ear plugs at band practice, shows, and for any other loud activities..for the most part, i have learned to live with it and have it pretty much under control, but i was just wondering if there were any other musicians with tinnitus on here that would like to talk and share experiences, stories, or coping methods? only anwer if your going to give a serious response, please.
