Probably the best thing to do is have a doctor look at it - you may have a broken eardrum.

If not, try some decongestants, like Sudafed.

I had the same feeling in my ears for about a month earlier this year. I ended up finally going to a DR because I could not sleep at night it was so bad.

What I discovered was....my ear had impacted wax in it. The wax was so much that it had clogged my ear and an inner ear infection had come about.

The solution, I used Otix drops (available at a drugstore) to soften it up, and had it irrigated out by the Dr. All better almost instantly - the ringing disappeared and I could hear again. It sounds like that is what you have as well.

There are several other possible causes though - the best place I saw while searching was http://www.remedyfortinnitus.com
