are my ringing ears permanently damaged?!?
So basically I went to a techno concert last Sunday and I guess I was next to really loud bass speakers the whole time for around 3 hours. On the way home I realized my ears have a weird ringing to it, kind of like a white noise. I thought it would go away but it’s still here and it’s been 4 days now. The volume of the white noise decreased but when a room is dead quiet I can still hear it. And I’m only 17 too, so this really sucks because it’s so hard to concentrate in classrooms with the annoying buzz/ring! Does this seem like tinnitus or what?

I occasionally get a ringing in my ears too, because I have something called TMJ.
And I don’t think that your ears are permanently damaged. It could just be a temporary injury from a loud noise. Or it could be caused by nose allergies or an ear infection. But since you were at a concert, the noise more than likely caused it.
Just make sure you constantly clean out your ears with a q-tip. And if the ringing starts to give you headaches or becomes increasingly annoying, you should see a doctor.
That sounds a lot like tinnitus. It’s unlikely that your ears have been permanently damaged because they just need time to heal. If the tinnitus continues for an extensive period of time, it may be a good idea to have them checked out at an ear nose and throat specialist. My ears have a weird throbbing noise called a ‘venus hum’ and it really worried me but when I got it checked out it turned out to just be the noise of the blood vessel near my ear. Don’t freak out.
hii
first of all it sounds really hot to go to such a concert
ok
it can´t be a tinnitus cause if it was then you should have been 4 days without sleeping. so it´s only nerve tireness !!
u have to sleep and avoid hearing noisy things especially music for a week.
ps: plzzz next time if u wanna go to a concert plzz tell me i like such places or send me an email inorder to be friends if u wanna plzz hadi1992@msn.com
Yes it is tinnitus. This should go away on its own, but if its driving you nuts go to your doctor, he/she can either give u medication or recommend an ENT or audiologist who can help with this problem. A few Do’s & Don’ts for you:
1. Lay on a heating pad, the heat sometimes causes the wax to run out thereby relieving the tinnitus
2. Do NOT use Q-Tips, those will only damage your ear more.
Don’t worry about the tinnitus, as long as u don’t have other symptoms such as vertigo you should be fine.
