My heart breaks when I have to stand by and watch my gran battling to cope with ear ringing! The tinnitus is not the worst of it though, because she struggles to sleep her general health is also starting to suffer. It seems that as she is always so tired and anxious, she doesn't get to sleep for long and nowdays seems to catch every infection that is going around. My theory is that this be resulting from the tinnitis? Where can I get a tinnitus treatment for her.

On Wednesday afternoon I accidently fired a handgun without ear protection. I only fired 3 or 4 shots before I realized I didn't have ear protection, but I've had ringing in my left ear since then. It's been about 4 days and I'm wondering if this is permanent or not. I read all about tinnitus and how the hairs in the ear bend and send signals to the nerves, but is it possible that the hairs can straighten out on their own? This was the first time I've ever done this, any insight?

I usually don't use Pepto Bismol that much but I had to because other things weren't working. I took too much of the Maximum Strength Pepto Bismol and now I am suffering from a side effect of Tinitus (ringing in the ears), very loud and annoying. Any quick home remedies?

Don't worry it doesn't really bother me. It's like a low hissing noise i can easily ignore.

I have mild hearing loss in one ear, extremely (to the point of insanity) protective over my ears and what's left of them.
I worry about mixing down a track, but then often think of Brian Wilson who was deaf in one ear. I think there's somebody who I can look up to.
I'm wondering what other musicians are doing to cope.

Like the question states, I was at a Shinedown concert last night, and was standing right next to a huge speaker. My ears are still ringing like crazy and they wont stop. My hearing is also somewhat distorted still (Its almost like there is a blanket over my ears). Anything I can do to help them? Did I damage them permanently?

My heart breaks when I have to watch my Mom battling to cope with the ringing noses in her ears! That is not the worst though, as she find it hard to fall asleep her overall health is also starting to suffer. It appears to me that because she is always so irratable and anxious, she doesn't get to sleep much and always seems to catch virtually every sickness that is doing the rounds. Is this be related to her tinnitis? I am searching for a tinnitus cure right now.

The ringing in my ears is constant but I only hear it when it's really quiet. At first I thought it just happened late at night but then I realized one day(when plugging my ears so I didn't hear an irritating commercial on tv from the other room) that the ringing was always there. It just didn't always bother me because it's usually drowned out by all the noise around me. I've read about ear ringing and apparently that's called tinnitus. Now, are there any remedies or anything that can get rid of the ringing?

Is there any cure? I can still hear through the ear, and its only in the left, not right ear. Never heard of this problem till I got it. And yes, I do clean my ears using cotton swabs. I suppose its a message to others not to stick anything in your ears. Its really true that doing so can cause trouble.
